Where did you grow up and what was your first language?

I grew up in L.I.C./Astoria, Queens. My first language was Spanish.

What from your hometown do you wish you could find in New York City?

Astoria has historically been the most diverse neighborhood in the entire country with over 100 nationalities/ethnicities represented in a small area. Although the neighborhood is changing as gentrification occurs, I hope to still find Astoria's spirit of diversity in the rest of NYC's boroughs.

Where did you go to college?

Fordham University (B.A. in History & Cultural Anthropology). I am currently attending City College and working towards my master's degree in education.

What was your favorite book in middle school?

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston


What is the best part of teaching at Hamilton Grange?

This will be my first year working at HGMS. I'm excited to meet my new students and their families/loved ones and working with my new awesome staff!

What is your favorite thing to do when you are not teaching?

Singing, reading, and collaborating in artistic projects.
